General Conference Weekend

Thank you so much for your compassion on yesterday's post. Thank you for being my friends. Thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts. I felt them all.

Nothing has changed with Greg, and the doctors say that the next few days will be the determining factor. I will keep you posted.

We spent the first weekend of October at the cabin, listening to General Conference. We couldn't get a good enough signal on the iPad to watch it, so we did it old school style and listened. It reminded me of when I was a kid and we could only watch the Saturday morning session and listen to the other three on the radio. Man, I'm old.
The little kids took notes and wrestled on the couch as Brad tried to find a comfortable way to rest his neck. (This was only a few days after his emergency room visit, and he was still in a lot of pain at this point. The doctors are still evaluating and hoping to find a solution for that.)

Lily invited her friend for the weekend, and they giggled late into the night on the porch swing, squeezed in time for homework . . .
. . . and snuggled under blankets as they listened to conference.
The fading afternoon light after Saturday's last session was perfect, and I had to snap a few photos.
Much of the driveway has begun to erode, so Brad mobilized the kids to place rocks along the trench he dug.

They were not that excited about it. Can you tell?

But the light!
I convinced the girls to come out for a few quick shots as well.
Can't waste light like that when my camera is in my hand.
We stayed up late Saturday night working on the world's hardest puzzle--who would have thought that a jumble of crayons would be so hard?--and Brad didn't rest until that thing was complete. Minus the two pieces that somehow disappeared. Does that happen to anyone else? Pieces of a brand new puzzle disappear before the puzzle is even done?

Weather--perfect.
Conference--perfect.
Kids--not so perfect, but still great.
Health--Brad's neck and Hyrum's fever dampened things a little.

I wish I could live up there.
