I haven't been able to look at the pictures we took or to write about sending Ben off yet. Hopefully tomorrow.
Instead, here's a little levity to makeme you smile.
Me: Micah, you want to play football this fall?
Micah: Sure! I mean, yes. I mean, is it tackle?
Me: No, it's flag.
Micah: Yes I want to play!
Me: Why not tackle?
Micah (after thinking for a minute): Well, the thing is, I'm ready TO tackle. I just don't think I'm ready to BE tackled.
I guess he really was watching all those years I hauled him to Ben's games.
Evie: Mommy, why are you so sad?
Me: Ben is leaving and I will miss him, and that makes me sad. Won't you be sad when he leaves?
Evie: No.
Me: Really? Because I will be sad.
Evie: Why should I be sad? If he was dead, then I'd be sad, but he's just going to be in Peru.
She was right. She wasn't sad.
I was right. I was.
And this is the funniest video I've seen in a while. Evie was opening a Go-Gurt. I'll let the rest speak for itself. I'm just so glad she went to Brad instead of me. I would have cleaned her up, but dads always manage to remember the camera before the cleanup.
The word for today that you must incorporate into conversation is squat--as a verb and past tense of squirt, not as a noun--like squats in CrossFit. You're welcome.

Loved the video!! Might be my all-time favorite age. Sorry you are missing your boy. I can't even imagine how that must feel.
ReplyDeleteThe video is awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteBrad has such a calm voice. "Does it taste good?" Cracked me up, as well as Evie's laugh :)
ReplyDeleteway to go, Dad!
ReplyDeletehahaha
ReplyDeleteLove both dialogues, AND the video.
=)
