This post may reveal what a nerd I am, fair warning.
Have you seen "The Desolation of Smaug"?
Remember the part where the dwarves and Bilbo arrive on the side of the Lonely Mountain, hoping to fulfill this prophecy:
"Stand by the grey stone when the thrush knocks and the setting sun with the last light of Durin's Day will shine upon the keyhole."
Well, here is my own rune, entitled, "Fading Light of Laundry Day." Enjoy.

Stand by the red detergent bottle when the timer rings
and the setting sun with the reflected light of Laundry Day
will silhouette your boots perfectly on the stairwell wall.
Who knew wearing boots on Laundry Day could fulfill ancient prophecy? Happy to oblige.

Hey, my laundry room is a similar color, only lighter. :D.
ReplyDeleteHave you read Stephanie Nielson's last blog post? It made me smile. :)

ReplyDeleteI think maybe you are a long lost sister of mine.

ReplyDeleteforwarding this bad boy to my hubs
I might wish for your laundry room but I know that the laundry would just pile up and no matter how much glimmering light, I would dread going in there.
ReplyDeleteIt's all really poetic and you are truly a Tolkien nerd, but the question I have........why are you wearing boots?
ReplyDeleteOr maybe it snowed?
Or you are totally a stylin' mom/nerd! :)
