Did you know . . .
. . . fall leaves occur in Arizona in December and January?
Did you know . . .
. . . Evie loves to rake?
Did you know . . .
. . . errant sticks can hide in leaf piles and attack you when you jump?
Did you know . . .
. . . Micah emerged unscathed from this jump?
Did you know not a single tear was shed during this leaf fight?
. . . and that's a miracle?
. . . and Micah was the undisputed champion?
Did you know . . .
. . . I tried to chase Micah down to shove leaves down his shirt and he shouted, "Dang, Mom! You're fast!"
. . . and I will remind him he said that when I'm 86 and can't chase him any more?
Did you know . . .
. . . Evie told me, "That's a rhombus." (Ben taught her that, but I was still shocked she knew what a rhombus was.)
Did you know . . .
. . . the sky last night was actually this color? And I don't know why Hyrum is pulling that face.
Did you know . . .
. . . it rarely freezes in Arizona? Some winters we go all winter without a single freeze warning.
Did you know that our temperatures are predicted to reach the upper TEENS in outlying areas this weekend?
. . . and that we are predicted to have four days in a row of these temperatures? Last time that happened, it was 1988.
Not that I'm complaining. I've read your forecasts around the country, and frankly I'm enjoying a real fall for a change. Even if it is in January.
Stay warm this weekend!
I saw that you were going to have a bunch of freezing days! Crazy! The first winter we lived in Arizona it snowed in Mesa! And then a few months later it was a record hot summer with 22 consecutive days over 110-I began to feel like it was our fault.
ReplyDeleteWe get fall leaves in December/January in SoCal. :)
Looks like they had so much fun.
Fall leaves are so fun for kids. We need to have them come up here in October when the cottonwoods shed. Wish I was there today when our weather has roads and schools closed with 22 degrees, 20 mph wind and snowing besides. Brrrr. I just look at my Amaryllis and think spring.
ReplyDeleteThe weather is quite cold no matter where you are apparently! I'm enjoying my sweaters and boots and coats because I know it won't be a long season. Your kids are so full of life - the pictures made me smile.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute post Jenny! I didn't know....that you have fall like weather in Jan. and Feb and that you lose your leaves then. Great pics!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, Jenny!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised to hear your weather report, but I guess it shouldn't be. We've had it pretty cold here the past few days, with more to come.
I am loving it, to be honest.
=)
Fun pics...our leaves have been gone for months here...and the temperature last I looked, about an hour ago was -1o...that's Minus One. Now that the sun has dropped behind the western range, I would bet it's closer to what it was last night MINUS FIFTEEN.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your AZ winters, they're the reward for having lived thru the summers.
We are trying to stay warm. Wish I were in Arizona.
ReplyDeletei didn't know that!!! the low temps are crazy. we haven't been this cold in twenty years. i don't mind it though. reminds me of our rexburg days:)
