Such an eventful weekend. So much to say.
Around 7 am on Friday I received this image on my phone (and no matter what I do or how many times I rotate it, it won't straighten up)
Heidi had been admitted to the hospital, the doctor had broken her water, and she was ready to go!
I was excited all day long, wondering and hoping all would be well.
As the day stretched into night, she never really progressed and Baby wouldn't drop down. Finally, around 7:45 pm, I received a text from Sam saying that the c-section papers had been signed and the doctor was coming in to evaluate the situation.
Just after 10 pm, we received this image:
When the doctors reached in to pull him out, the cord was not only around his neck, but it was also wrapped around his body like a seat belt. With every contraction, he would just get tangled more and more in the cord. There was no other way for him to get out.
I am so thankful for good doctors who know what to do.
I am so thankful for Heidi and Sam and the family they have--little Nathaniel has no idea how lucky he is to be part of this family.
I am so thankful he is safe and healthy.
And most of all, I am so thankful that I have a plane ticket for Wednesday. I can hardly wait to eat up that baby!
