Here is what 43 looks like around here.
While I was gone to a meeting (yes, it was THAT kind of birthday), my family put up streamers and balloons and carefully counted out 43 candles. Micah thought I was lucky to have so much fire.
And yes, I did blow them all out in one breath. I may be old, but I still have a few skills left.
The best part? All of my family except Tucker was there to share a piece of cake.
And the heavens opened for quite a splendid storm just as we were preparing for bed--a final treat that only an Arizonan really understands.
It was a good day.

One of the best things about having kids is seeing how excited they are to celebrate our birthdays. I'm sure you felt the love yesterday!

So glad it was a good birthday with your wonderful family. And for the record, 43 is a baby. You're actually closer to Katie's age than to mine! You've got a lot of good years ahead to use that good 43 year old brain.
