I planned to post these pictures last Friday, but Brad and I spent a spur-of-the-moment day in San Diego.
Better posting birthday pictures a week late than Lily never forgiving me and saying I love Hyrum the most ;)
When a girl turns twelve in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she moves from the little kids to the big kids. And it's a big deal.
Lily's new class--the Beehive class--came and decorated her room while she was at school.
The girls taped balloons all over one wall and instructed her to pop them. A little scared of the loud noise . . .
. . . but each balloon contained one thing a girl in her class admired or liked about Lily. It was sweet.
Since turning twelve is a big deal in itself, Mom doesn't do a party. Bugged Miss Lily a little, but she did get some makeup and a new dock for her MP3 player.

She was so excited to read all the notes and see all the confetti and candy.

That soothed the savage beast.
I'm in for a wild ride with this one. Love her.

Last minute trip to San Diego? Wow! Sounds like heaven.
Oh that line about you loving Hyrum makes me laugh, because. . .that is exactly what Leslie would say too! One more month and I will be the mother of a 12 year old girl too! We need lots of prayer!!!!
