Notice the clock on my night stand.
Yes. That does say 4:17 am. Yes. We were all up (except for Evie). I slept like it was Christmas Eve. I kept dreaming that I didn't hear the phone or that I overslept.
Why the excitement and early hour?
Tucker called us from the Salt Lake City airport at 4 am this morning, stopping in Dallas before arriving at JFK airport in New York City sometime this afternoon.
It was fantastic to talk with him, all of us talking over each other, trying to ask him and tell him everything on our minds in the short 30 minutes he had before boarding the plane.
He sounded great. So excited that he annoyed his companions with his early-morning exuberance. So happy. So ready.
In the words of my favorite missionary, BRING IT. BRING IT ON.
The joy - it's there to see on every face!
ReplyDeleteThe experience he has dreamed about his whole life is beginning. What a treat for his Mama. Please send me his address. LOVE
ReplyDelete:) My roommate said she saw him yesterday. She said he was the first one in the breakfast line, shoveled down his food, and left just as quickly while all the other elders were still sleepily making their way through the line. Sounds like him :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you just thirst to hear what they are doing and it is soooo good to hear their voice! I am just bustin my buttons when I get an email from either of our boys!
ReplyDeleteWhat blessed Moms we are!
Good times. It's wonderful that everyone would wake up so early to talk to him. Way to go and way to be supportive.
ReplyDeleteWishing him much success and safety.
How well I remember! So much joy packed into so few minutes.
ReplyDeleteHe's in my prayers, Jen.
=)
Wow! That is so exciting.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you all.
There is nothing better than a missionary heading out to the field....well, except one coming home.
The whole experience is so wonderful.
You all look like you were having a great time. I bet you were tired later though.......except Evie.
HOORAY!!! I am so glad you got to talk to him. We love reading his emails to all our boys, cause he is such a darn good example for them in attitude and obedience and determination. They remember him by name in nearly every prayer :) NY is not going to know what hit them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture, there's joy everywhere :)
ReplyDeleteYay Tucker! I loving hearing how wonderful he's doing out in the field!
