We were ready for bed.
I was examining Brad's new haircut.
He said, "I know, I know. It's really gray, blah blah blah."
I said, "We're getting old, ya know?"
Brad said, "We're not that old. Two things. Number one: We're still young enough to do some fun stuff. And number two: . . . . . I forgot."
You can't make this stuff up.
After I stopped my hysterical laughter, I squeaked, "You know what I have to do with this, right?"
Brad said, "I know. Blog the heck out of it."
And so I did.
Your vote: old or not?
Brad, yes. You, no.
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no! You're nowhere near old! Now me, on the other hand, I'm teetering on the edge!
ReplyDeleteYou're only old when you lose your sense of humour. So no, neither of you are old.
ReplyDeleteDana
Not old, just getting up there (Brad, not you, of course).
ReplyDeleteHilarious!
ReplyDeleteHe is gray, but it's distinguished! And you're both FAR to young at heart to be old. And furthermore....if YOU'RE old, then it puts me much to close to old, therefore, YOU ARE NOT OLD!
my vote is:
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!
Hysterical. In our family that would make the pantry quote board. :)
ReplyDeleteOf course not old!!
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh. I love these moments.
Old..no way!
ReplyDeleteFunny...way!
Enjoy the day
I vote - not old. You have just begun to get broken in. After all, if you are OLD, what does that make me?
ReplyDeleteK tell Brad he has more grey than Bret still. We are only as old as we feel. You don't look old.
ReplyDeleteMy husband just had to break down and buy reading glasses. I think it is so cute because it makes me feel like we're growing old together, which is the goal.
ReplyDeleteThis is a daily conversation in our house. Why is it that we call ourselves old but not others who are the exact same age? Why is it that I'll see a woman in her 40's having a baby and think "Good for her!" but yet I just can't bring myself to doing it?? :) You're not old. I'm old. And I think we're about the same age.
ReplyDeleteYour not old, but I'm getting old!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is SO much a conversation Dave and I would have. And often do.
ReplyDeleteBut my vote is coming down on the side of "NOT old." That one was just a fluke. In time, you will be like Dave and me. Nearly short-term memory-less.
Not yet, though. It's premature.
;)
My Schroesband saw your profile picture on a comment you left. When I told him you were the mother of 8, (and freaking amazing at it) his jaw dropped, and the he said you definitely don't look old enough to have 8 kids unless you started at like 15. So our vote is not old!
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud reading this. Not only because of the humor of the post in general but mostly because your husband knew that you would blog about! That is awesome :)
ReplyDeleteOld schmold!! As long as you can hold each other and laugh, you are as young as you want to be.
ReplyDeleteNo way baby! I am 40 and lovin it! I would totally love another baby though! Am I too old for that kind of "fun stuff"?
ReplyDeleteI do have a few gray hairs springing up now and again...
But I just yank them out!
It will be our little secret, K?
That is why they make hair dye!! Brad is just having a 'Senior Moment' - be sure to tell him I said that!!
ReplyDeleteI vote no. That happens to me all the time and I'm not old. Nope, not me. So not you either.
ReplyDeleteThere no such thing as being old :) I have been forgetting things all my life, even as a child (you know like forgetting to do my homework, forgetting to get the permission slip signed, etc.)
ReplyDeleteBesides, gray is the new black, isn't it? :)
I'll have to say no to this. If I say "old", then I'll have to admit I'm getting old too and I refuse to admit to it. I know the reality, just don't mess with the fantasy.
ReplyDeleteI happen to love gray hair on a man, but that's just me.
