So much of the nuance of spoken language is missing in "cell-phone" text. I was going to post an exchange with Tucker, but he started his own blog, Tongue in Cheek, Foot in Mouth, Hand in the Cookie Jar. (If there was ever a more apropos title, I don't know it.) You can read it on his blog. It speaks for itself--bad punctuation and clever writing. That's my Tuck.
I must say, as painful as it is to have your kids grow up and move away and need you so much less, there are certain joys that are reserved for parents of grown-ups. I'm beginning to savor these as well!
My daughter just started a blog too. Just another way for us to connect since she's a 4 hour plane ride away and I haven't seen her since June :( - I'll pop over and check out his blog!!
ReplyDeleteThey know just how to get us don't they? I can just picture you in Target with the popcorn and kids flying, and then to get that text! Sounds like his blog is appropriately named :)
ReplyDeleteI have three grown sons... I know what you mean! I am headed over to his blog right now!
ReplyDeleteHave a pretty day!

Too funny! What a pill! Did it make you miss him more or want to reach out and wack him?
ReplyDeleteAnd in response to your last post about getting old - No way! Hair is not a judgement of age at least not at my house, 'cause my 30 year old hubby started losing his hair at 17. So, if hair is a good judge of age, I'm married to an OLD man! Thanks for sharing that great story!
It was not bad punctuation. I might've missed one or two commas. Sue me.
ReplyDeleteToo cute. Apparently, your son has your sense of humor too! You must be a proud mama right about now :)
ReplyDeleteTucker is a funny man...he must get that from his mom! How cool is it that now he has a blog?! Love what you said at the end...and of course it made me a little teary. What the heck happens to us when we have children?? I was NEVER this sappy before!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great title!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this Jen. . .my kids are always giving me grief for my blog...
ReplyDeleteI do have to agree that being able to joke around with my older kids is something I wasn't expecting and really enjoy!
...and wait, Jen...the best is yet to come....seeing your children as parents. It's such a blessing!
ReplyDeleteMan I love that kid. I for one am happy he started a blog. Here is for hoping he actually keeps up on it.
ReplyDeleteAnd his title is totally genius!
PRICELESS. My response to Tucker was, "This is why I love your mother more than anyone on the Internet."
ReplyDeleteThe whole exchange was blogable. :)
He's a quite a bit of you, isn't he?
That's one of the things I love most, is my friendship with my mom. You have some very cheeky, and funny adults to mother!
ReplyDeleteWe do need more Tucker in our lives, so hooray for the blog. That boy just cracks me up :) Isn't it amazing that our offspring are likable at every age so far?!
ReplyDeleteVery true about adult children. They are bunches of fun. And with adult children, you often get little children who come along and the whole package is great!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely hop over and check his blog out. I love the title of it, for starters!
ReplyDelete=)
I just read Tuck's first post. He cracks me up! You can tell him he has a way with words.
