Oh, Where Do You Sleep in the Summertime?

Oh, where do you sleep in the summertime, when there is no school?

Is it in a pig pile that makes your mom smile . . .

. . . with a book . . .

. . .or the tramp with your brother dear?

Is that where you sleep? So do we!

  1. Ok, pic on the tramp with the headlamps.....not only classic, but CLASSIC! I love it!

    Cute post!

Glad Lily is loving workshop! She's a space cadet that one. She misses most of the moves in my song, good thing I love her so much and she's so darn cute. She'll remember them by showtime, I'm sure.

  2. My friend's children used to sack out all over her house in the summertime, too. I'd forgotten.

Thanks for bringing back a great memory. Your kids are delightful.

  12. NO Kidding--my yahoos slept in cardboard boxes this weekend.
When the Caboose woke up Sunday morning, I said,
"Hey chicken lips, how are you?"
"Great. I slept in a box!" she replied.

  15. I loved this post - your kids are so cute! What I would have given for a reading headlamp when I was a kid (as well as sleep on a trampoline!) Summer is just full of good times, isn't it?

  17. Love it! My kids have been sleeping in each other's rooms this week. It's fun to see them wanting to spend that extra time together. Even if they are asleep.

  18. Thank you for visiting my blog and for the comments.
I so love this post. I don't know why we bother to decorate our children's rooms because they love to pull all the top mattresses off their beds and have a sleepover in the family room. Of course this means plenty of snacks to sneak out of the fridge and movies all night long. It's just funny though because it looks like a make shift hospital ward.
Okay I was looking at your photos....do you have 7 kiddos? That rocks!

  19. Sweet, sweet post.
When we were kids we all wanted to sleep in the basement rec room in the summer - it was the coolest place.

  20. ok, i so now feel like the boring, control freak mom and you are BY FAR the coolest, fun mom!!:) we have a bedtime routine we do every night, maybe i need to let up on it one of these nights, let THEM decide what they want to do and where they want to sleep, and live a little! (or maybe not...they will never fall asleep and if they don't sleep, I can't blog!..see, control freak:))

  23. I especially enjoyed the song reference. That is still, to this day , one of my favorite Primary songs. I don't even know if they sing it anymore. Along with slumber piles and tramp parties, and nooks and books, and spots of every conceivable sort, the song brought back oh so many memories and joys, Thank you!
