Do you know what today is? Do ya, do ya, do ya?
Today is my anniversary.
My blogging anniversary.
One year ago today (last year's election day), I entered the blogosphere.
Oh, what a memory!
Obama still held the potential of being defeated.
Baby A romped carefree with Hyrum and Micah.
Heidi still occupied the bedroom at the end of the hall.
Jon and Kate only fought on their show.
H1N1 was an abbreviation that wasn't a global red alert.
Procter and Gamble still made my forever-missed Secret Platinum.
Brad was comfortable in his seat in the Stake high council room.
My basement had not yet flooded and risked the survival of my gardenias (still growing strong, I might add!).
And Baby Eve was still a wish in my heart.
So many changes this year. 217 posts--more journaling than I've done . . . ever.
And today, I would like to reward you, my loyal blog followers. With a giveaway!
Leave a comment on this post referencing your favorite post from the last year. Then, on Saturday November 6th, I will randomly pick three winners (maybe I'll let Lily draw them out of a hat. She'd like that.). What could you win, you may ask? A copy of my favorite book of all time, Gift from the Sea, by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. If you haven't read this treasure of maternal reflection, now is the time. If you have, then you understand its status as my all-time fave.
So leave your comments now.
And, announcing the winners of the baby derby:
Superpaige and the Nelson family both picked October 23rd. So, if I don't have your address, drop me an email so I can send out your reward. Apologies extended that it's taken me so long to figure this out. I have had a new baby and a broken leg to deal with!
So many fun posts to choose from. But my all time favorite (just because of the drama it caused for those of us who were trying to figure out if it was real) was the April Fool's Day post with the ever so shocking baby countdown clock on it! Happy 1 year anniversary! Keep it up and maybe one day I'll figure out how to not be anonymous :) --Janette
ReplyDeleteBoy, this was a hard one for me, as I love reading your posts in general, but I think my very favorite has to be the series of posts you wrote while you and Heidi were in New York. It was just so much fun seeing you there together, and I also loved Brad's guest post during that time.
ReplyDeleteAs far as more serious posts go, I loved the way you dealt with Baby A and your sadness while still understanding the viewpoint of his birth mother. It was clear that you had his best interests at heart, even when you were hurting like crazy.
And, of course, every post about the pregnancy and birth of Eve has been exciting as can be for me...from the April Fool's start the beautiful finish.
Happy Anniversary!
=)
This was hard so I picked the one I had my most recent love affair with and that was "For the Last Time." It just reflected my own feelings so perfectly and was a beautiful tribute to pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites posts are always the ones with the updated pictures of your family. Living so far away, it let's me "see" your kids grow up. I love that I got to see brand new pictures of Eve as if I had been close enough to you to come to the hospital and see you!! Happy one year!!

You have my address, right?
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVED your post about Donny Osmond and you yelling out "we love you Donny."
How can I pick a favorite? That's like asking which part of you I love most--impossible!! I do remember fondly the hotly debated April's Fools post, and I love the pregnancy post-the last time one, and I love the political ones, and the prom drama, oh my word!! See what I mean, I could just keep going...
ReplyDeleteLove the pie blinkie, that is fun. Happy 1st anniversary!!
Uummm, Saturday is the 7th. I know, I know, picky.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite post is the new one everytime I open your blog! We are both so busy and it helps me keep up!
Congrats on your year!
Love ya!
Oh my word, to have to pick a favorite...UGH! Wait, first of all, congrats on your year of blogging. I remember your meek little invite to read it the first time. Who knew you'd be so darn popular and prolific. I'm just so happy you joined the blogging ranks and have brightened our lives. Ok, so my favorite....I really loved the one about "the last time" it was beautiful. I also loved the April Fools post, it was brilliant. AND, I just love you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I too loved the Donny Osmond one. Having known you all my life, and actually been to a concert with you, I laughed my head off when I read that. I could totally hear you doing that. But I also really loved the one when you were having to say good-bye to baby A. What a heartache that was and is. But all your entries are good. It's hard to narrow it down. Love you.

I just came across your blog through a comment you made on C Jane's blog. I have enjoyed reading many of your posts. I also LOVE Joseph. I saw it with Donny and was in heaven. I have enjoyed seeing Donny on Dancing With the Stars. I also love reality shows, Survivor and The Amazing Race are a couple of my favorites. And I loved reading about baby A. I found it interesting that you didn't have friends growing up, because the way you write on your blog makes me feel like your my friend already.
