Hyrum took a nap in his big boy bed for the first time. After two days of attempts and failures, he finally stayed. He seems so little still, only 21 months, but we need to get Baby A in with the boys, and this is the only option. I remember Heidi was 17 months, so I know it's possible.
Micah, on the other hand, is outgrowing his naps, and only takes one about twice a week. I keep wondering when he'll be completely done with the whole ritual of reading a story, singing "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Sunbeam" (in that order), a kiss and then a rest.
Which leads me to this:
Epiphany #9: You are there every day of their lives, but somehow, you blink, and you missed that moment when they grew up.
This epiphany is so true! Maggs was just a wee one herself and now all she does is run around screaming, "No! Mine!" to anyone who will listen. When did this happen!? I want her to be my baby forever. Weird.
ReplyDeleteI guess mothers will always remember their families when they were small. When I think of our family, I am about 30 and that makes you barely older than Lily. My little kids are still there tucked away in my memory and some days I can't imagine where the time has gone.
ReplyDeleteThose are great photos. I wish I had ones of all my kids about Micah's age, fast asleep. I need to stop for a visit, see the newly organized closet, the amazing sleep inducing big boy beds, and of course the fabulous hair cut-I'll see it in person before I can vote I've decided! Looks like a great cut though, see you soon :)

So true. I see you have that 123 book (Pictured with Hyrum). Are those not the ugliest pictures ever? Everytime I read that book, I think, seriously, WHO did this and thought these kids were ok?
ReplyDeleteFree book from the hospital. What do you expect?
ReplyDeleteDang it-didn't make it over there today-you guys cleaning the church with us tomorrow morning? D-G remember! C'mon, you know you want to!
